Breast Augmentation (Augmentation Mammaplasty)
Breast Augmentation Surgery, also known as augmentation mammaplasty, is the surgical placement of breast implants to increase fullness and improve symmetry of the breasts, or to restore breast volume lost after weight reduction, pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Surgical enhancement of breast shape, size, and appearance can be performed using a wide array of new style saline or cohesive silicone gel implants placed through a small hidden incision. The surgery is usually performed under general anesthesia in our Accredited Outpatient Surgical Facility
Breast Mastopexy (Breast Lift)
Breast Lift, also known as mastopexy, raises the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the new breast contour. A woman’s breasts often change over time, losing their youthful shape and firmness. The surgery involves the lifting and contouring of the breasts with relocation of the nipple and areola to their ideal positions. In some individuals, the areola becomes enlarged over time, and a breast lift will also reduce this to its ideal size, shape and location on the breast mound. A breast lift can rejuvenate one’s figure with a breast profile that is more youthful and uplifted. Breast lift surgery does not significantly change the size of the breasts or round out the upper part of your breast. However, in some woman, they find that after a breast lift, they are wearing a smaller cup size. For more significant changes in volume, breast augmentation or breast reduction can be combined with a breast lift to achieve the ideal size and shape.
Breast Reduction (Reduction Mammaplasty)
Breast Reduction Surgery, also known as reduction mammaplasty, removes excess breast fat, glandular tissue and skin to achieve a breast size and shape that is proportionate to the body and to alleviate the discomfort associated with overly large breasts. Overly large breasts can cause some women to have both health and emotional problems. In addition to self image issues, a patient may also experience physical pain and discomfort. Furthermore, the weight of excess breast tissue can impair one’s ability to lead an active lifestyle. The emotional discomfort and self-consciousness often associated with having heavy, large pendulous breasts is as important an issue to many women as the physical discomfort and pain. As with breast lift surgery, Breast reduction surgery is also designed to lift and shape the breasts to their more youthful and perky appearance.
Fat Transfer Breast Enhancement
Fat Transfer Breast Enhancement or fat grafting to the breasts is a minimally invasive procedure which consists of two procedures performed together to enhance the size and shape of the breasts using the patient’s own fatty tissues. The surgery is designed to remove and contour areas of localized fullness or fatty deposits, and use this tissue to create more beautiful contours and fullness to the breasts.
Breast Implants
Breast Implants, also known as breast prostheses, are used to surgically enhance a patient’s breasts to achieve a fuller, more symmetric, or more ideal breast size and shape. A variety of new breast implants are available to allow Dr. Calloway to achieve the exact size and shape breasts that a patient desires. Breast Implants are available in a variety of sizes and shapes to best match the specific and unique needs of individual patients. In addition to the traditional round implants, new styles of shaped implants area now available that more closely mimics the shape and projection of natural breasts. Dr. Calloway has extensive experience with all styles of breast implants and selects the ideal implants based on patient anatomy and desired appearance. Dr. Calloway works with all major implant manufacturers including Mentor, Allergan and Sientra. With all implants on the market at Dr. Calloway’s disposal, allows him maximum flexibility in choosing the specific implants to match the individual patient’s needs.
Breast Implant removal
Breast Implant Removal, also known as explantation of implants, can be performed to remove breast implants. Whether a woman decides she no longer wants her implants, or decides to change the size or shape of her breasts, the implants can be safely removed from the implant pockets. The implants can then be replaced with a different size, style or shaped implant, or can be avoided altogether. Once removed, the breast implant pocket will disappear with the healing process. Because removing the implants will reduce the size and shape of the breasts, some woman who do not want replacement of the implants, may elect to restore a youthful shape with a Breast Lift. If the patient’s goal is to remove the implants but maintain a fuller shape without implants, an ideal option is to consider Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation.*
